  Lakeview Bed & Breakfast

        Built in 1879 our home is one of Niagara's "Chautauqua" homes.  Although the Chautauqua Society ceased operation in 1900, Lakeview continued as a summer residence until 1956.  First called the Swiss Chalet guests were welcomed for afternoon tea and lunches. Rooms were also available for the weary traveler.

        The year marks the sixtieth year that our family has owned Lakeview.  Jim and I purchased it from his parents in 1984 and have welcomed Bed and Breakfast guests since the summer of 1987.  This is our twenty-second anniversary in the Bed and Breakfast business.

        Eating a full breakfast is the only way to begin each day.  Breakfast is served in the our sunroom overlooking Lake Ontario.  Your meal includes fruit in season, coffee, tea, juice, homemade bread, Niagara jams and jellies, and entree.  After dining, you can retrieve your bicycles for a short ride into town, or just stroll along the boulevard, past the golf course. 

        The way to see Niagara-on-the-Lake is at a leisurely and thoughtful pace.  Return to your youth in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Let our home be your central holiday location for winery tours, golf, cycling, dining and of course the Shaw Festival.  There are so many things to do in Niagara-on-the-Lake.  Taste a new wine at one of our many award winning wineries.  Visit Canada's first historic museum and Fort George.  Our activities page will give you the links to many of Niagara's best attractions.  If you need reservations, we can make them for you.  Just let us know.

        If you need to check your email or find time to work we offer a secure wifi link in every room.

        Sunsets are spectacular when viewed from the verandah or in our Adorondack chairs on the front lawn.  Some of our guests say that Niagara sunsets over Lake Ontario are "better than those in Key West."

Accommodations  

        For your convenience our home is smoke free and centrally air conditioned.  It has many quiet places to sit, read, or enjoy television.  Safe bicycle storage is available.

        We offer the following room arrangements. Check-in 4:00 p.m., check-out at 11:00 a.m.  Special arrangements can always be made.  We require a minimum stay of two nights Thursday through Saturday.

Reservations Policy

      To ensure that you get the days you want please do the following after making your initial inquiry.

• contact us by email or phone to let us know your holiday plans.

• confirm your reservation by subsequent email or phone call.

• send a deposit in the amount of the first night fee $135.00.

• let us know your estimated time of arrival in Niagara so that we can make sure to greet you properly at our home.

        A full breakfast is served every day between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m.   Fresh fruit, toast, juice, coffee, tea, cereal, bacon and homemade bread are served with your entree.  Some of the meals you might enjoy are illustrated below.
